In the “Value Labels” dialogue box that opens, click the plus button, then enter “0” below “Value” and “Control” beneath “Label”. Next, click the plus button again, then enter “1” below “0” and “Intervention” below “Control”. When the dialogue box looks like the image below, click “OK” to close it.

Click the top cell in the “Measure” column and specify that “Group” is a nominal variable (i.e., a categorical variable). In the second row of the “Name” column, write “Score” (i.e., the name of the dependent variable), and use the corresponding “Measure” cell to indicate that it is a scale variable (i.e., a continuous variable). Likewise, write “Age” (i.e., the name of the covariate) in the third row of the “Name” column and use the corresponding “Measure” cell to indicate that it is also a scale variable. The file should look like the below image at this stage.
